Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the latest edition of our school newsletter. As we embark on another exciting month filled with learning and enrichment, I would like to draw your attention to two significant events that play a crucial role in our students' well-being and growth.
Firstly, Children's Mental Health Week, scheduled for 5th to the 11th February, provides us with a valuable opportunity to focus on the emotional well-being of our students. The mental health of children is an essential aspect of their overall development, and this week serves as a reminder to nurture their minds, promote resilience, and encourage open conversations about mental health.
In addition to Children's Mental Health Week, we are also gearing up for Safer Internet Day on 6th February. In today's digital age, it is crucial to educate our children about responsible internet use, online safety, and the potential risks associated with the digital world. Our teachers will be incorporating age-appropriate discussions and activities into the curriculum to empower our students with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the internet safely.
I would strongly encourage you to take a look at the websites detailed below, to get further information and ideas on how you can support your children at home.
Another way you can help ensure your child is healthy is by ensuring their vaccinations are all up to date. Measles cases are on the rise in the UK and this is an extremely dangerous illness. If your child is not vaccinated against this disease we strongly encourage you to speak to your GP as soon as possible and get them booked in to get protected.
On a lighter note, I am delighted to share the joyous experiences of our Blackbird class, who recently had a wonderful time at Windsor Castle. Such educational outings not only enhance their understanding of history, storytelling and culture but also create lasting memories. We look forward to more enriching excursions, with both Robins and Magpie classes eagerly anticipating their upcoming visits.
As always, we appreciate your continued support in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for our students. Together, we can ensure their well-rounded development and equip them with the skills needed to navigate both the real and digital worlds.
Thank you for being valuable partners in your child's education.
Warm regards,
Miss Jarrett
