As we reach the culmination of this remarkable term, I find myself reflecting on the experiences and achievements that have enriched our school community. The vibrancy of our recent Iftar celebration, the educational excursions that have broadened our children's horizons, and today's exuberant disco have all contributed to a term brimming with engagement and learning.
I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of our monthly Baby and Toddler sessions, held on the last Thursday of each month at 2pm. These gatherings provide an invaluable opportunity for parents to connect and for our youngest community members to begin their social journey. I encourage those with little ones to join us for our next session on Thursday, 24th April at 2pm. Please mark this date in your calendars!
It is with immense pride that I commend our Year 1 children for their stellar performance in the Spring production. Their resilience in the face of technical challenges was truly commendable, as they continued to dance and sing with unwavering enthusiasm, even without musical accompaniment at times. Their adaptability and spirit exemplify the qualities we strive to nurture in our children.
The musical prowess of our Rocksteady bands continues to flourish, as evidenced by their impressive performance on Wednesday. I strongly encourage you to consider enrolling your child in this enriching programme. Details can be found on the flyers sent home and on the Rocksteady website.
The overwhelming response to our Science Week competition was a testament to the curiosity and creativity of our children. Mr Kearsey, our Trust Chief Executive Officer, faced the formidable task of selecting winners from an array of exceptional entries. Congratulations to all participants, and especially to our winners, whose names are listed below.
We also said goodbye this week to Mrs Jangra, who has been working at Phoenix for an amazing 18 years! Mrs Jangra is retiring and plans to spend more time with her grandchildren and to travel to India to visit family. Mrs Jangra has been instrumental in supporting so many children during her time at the school. We are all going to miss her hugely, but wish her a wonderful retirement.
Looking ahead, please note that we will reconvene for the new term on 22nd April.
For those seeking holiday activities, I remind you of the various camps available during the half-term break. Children eligible for benefits-related Free School Meals can attend HAF camps at no cost, as detailed in the letter from the local authority. For others, these camps are accessible for a fee. Please follow these links for all the information: HAF Programme Easter 2025 | The Link for activities available and Slough HAF - to sign up.
As we transition into the Easter holiday, I extend my warmest wishes to all. For those celebrating during this period, may your festivities be filled with joy and meaningful moments with loved ones.
As we part ways for the holiday, I extend my gratitude for your continued support and engagement in our school community. I look forward to welcoming you back for another term of growth, discovery, and achievement.
